What is apprenticeship?

Apprenticeship is a type of post secondary education that combines on-the-job training (85%) and classroom instruction (15%) to teach the skills required for a given trade. In Nova Scotia it takes takes approximately 4 years to complete apprenticeship in the sheet metal trade (1 year = approximately 2000 hours).
